On February 23rd, MYRANDAS, the LA-based rising Latin band, returned with their new single, ‘Necesito Q Me Distraigas.' The song marks MYRANDAS' first venture into perreo territory—a magnetic fusion of infectious beats and undeniable energy.
Originally founded in Havana by trilingual vocalist Kristina Miranda and musician/Grammy-winning engineer Marciel Miranda, the band transitioned to a new musical direction in 2022, incorporating Caribbean influences into their songs and embracing the urbano genre. Alongside drummer Richard Herrera, they blend Latin grooves, electronic music elements, and catchy melodies, making waves in Los Angeles with their fresh sound.
MYRANDAS' playful new single is infused with humor, with a chorus line that translates to “I need you to entertain me every time I call you.” The track delves into the dynamics of a relationship between a seemingly spoiled girl, a self-professed gold digger, and a not particularly romantic guy, who finds himself irresistibly drawn to her charms. ‘Necesito Q Me Distraigas' promises to deliver a fresh and engaging experience and captures the essence of a modern love story, brought to life by the vocals of Marciel and Kristina.
The beginning of 2024 has marked an incredibly promising start for MYRANDAS, with their performance at the NAMM Show and their recent single ‘Cuentale' receiving a review in Remezcla, and becoming one of the main soundtracks for the Cuban telenovela 'Viceversa.' Featured in the LA Times their latest concert in support of the ‘Necesito Q Me Distraigas' release took place at the Hotel Cafe on Saturday, the 24th. The band expressed their excitement about participating in the Sunset Eclectico night organized by Luis Polanco. MYRANDAS energetic and engaging presence on stage, coupled with the seamless integration of special guests DJ Ethos and violist Jeremy Jones, created an electrifying atmosphere. The audience was captivated from start to finish, thoroughly enjoying the unique blend of music and performance. It was truly a memorable evening that left a lasting impression on everyone involved.
